Does it seem like your old style isn’t working for you? Wearing the same thing every time you come out can get a little stale and boring. It’s hard to get out of that routine especially when you’re comfortable. That’s why I’m here to help you, I’ve got 5 simple steps to help you rediscover your style!
Let’s get started!
- Organize and Declutter
First and foremost, let’s declutter that closet! Go through all the items in your closet and organize them according to two piles: “For Donation” and “To Keep.” Only keep items that you love to wear and get compliments from.
An uncluttered closet is an uncluttered mind. This will give you a clear vision of how you want your style to look.
- Get Your Colors Personally Done
Once everything has been cleared out, you are now ready to make the important decisions for your wardrobe. To make it easier to know which outfit works for you, getting your colors done can be a big help! It’s a simple thing but colors can truly make a difference.
Getting your colors done will allow you to have a broader selection of colors to wear. Find the best colors that compliment you and learn which colors match the best together.
- Get to Know Your Flattering Features
Not all clothes are made the same. Some features look flattering to one person but look different to another. Figure out necklines that are most flattering for you. Need something to accentuate your curves? Go for a lower neckline. Want something that could draw attention to your upper arm? Shorter puff sleeves will do the job!
I, for one, love bell sleeves and sleeves with fine details. I just look and feel pretty whenever I wear them. Plus, they add a bit of a flair to my outfit!
- Know Your Fabrics!
Each fabric has a different effect on the wearer and the whole ensemble. They hang on the body differently depending on what material it’s made of. Some fabrics are loose and flowy, others cling to the shape of your figure. Take your time to get to know them, feel them out. Because apart from searching which fabrics suit your style, how you feel when wearing them matters too!
I love wearing silk and lace. I feel very pretty and feminine in these fabrics. You want to go with something comfortable for you.
- Take Inventory of All Items You Have
Having complete knowledge of what you have in your wardrobe will help you in the long run. Take note of all the items you have so you know what’s missing in your closet. If say, you have 10 black pants that all look the same, don’t fit, or are out of style, you can choose to get rid of them or give them an upgrade. Taking an inventory of your clothes will serve as a reference the next time you decide to go shop for more.
Now that we’ve all got that down, have fun finding your style! If you need a fashion consultant to help you find your style, I’m here to help! Don’t hesitate to contact or book a call with me through this link: here.
